I realized a long time ago that I will always gravitate toward buying bags, shoes and accessories more often than clothes. I believe that this is because I you shoe size for the most part will never change and bags and scarves can totally change an outfit. So what do you buy most?
This past week in NYC was the web 2.0 expo. I met a lot of people and very often I had to answer the question..how did I get started blogging?
Want-Wish-Need was my first blog and it was all about fashion (or anything) that I was craving at the moment. I used the blogger platform and I was happy with my minimalist style for a while. But soon I realized that a large part of me wanted to be able to blog about things other than fashion and shopping. While I did love fashion it was still only a small part of what I wanted to talk about.
I also wanted a blogging platform that gave me more control. That was when I decided to start my personal blog random sarah. I created random sarah as a place that I could talk about whatever I wanted. I also started doing a lot of video blogs on random sarah. The blog got bigger and bigger and grew to be a little more focused around technology and social media. (two other things that I love)
At this point I had basically created a persona for myself of random sarah. I almost wasn't Sarah Cooley anymore, I was Random Sarah. I wanted to explain to my friends all about this web 2.0 world that I had entered. So I started a podcast called What's it all about: Web 2.0 with the goal to explain all the web 2.0 services that I know and love to the masses.
But the one thing I did miss from all of this was fashion blogging. And so far it looks like I really like this platform. I just can't wait till they add domain mapping.
So for a while I had abandoned want wish need to go on to bigger and better things. However, when I heard today that Sugar, Inc had released a blogging platform I knew it was going to be the perfect place for me to bring want wish need to.
So far playing around with the site looks clean. But coming from more powerful blogging tools there are a few things I want
Overall it looks like a solid effort for a beta
I am looking forward to the future of Want Wish Need
