Starting to get strange

As many of you know I am a very loyal American Apparel customer and a frequent viewer of thier website. However, recently AA has started a new section of thier site called "products we like" and while I could think of a bunch of great products that could go on this page, the selection that they have chosen is downright strange. They have lip balm, fabric dye, soap, toothbrushes and sharpie markers. WHAT? Am I missing something that ties these random products together?

I just don't get it.

Free time

So I may have mentioned that I am off work for the month, this leaves me with a lot of free time to watch tv, wander around the internet...etc
I started watching the new season of top chef (which is one of my favorite shows) and got inspired to start cooking more. And the one thing I can say about cooking you own food, and from scratch is that you feel a lot better and healthier even if you are making the same "not so healthy" stuff. Why? because you are using better ingredients and you are most likely making smaller portions.
So one of the things I started cooking was making my own pasta from scratch. And I have to tell you it's a lot easier than I thought. It really took me back to this last summer when I lived in Italy. The pasta is really good and super easy.
Another thing I found in winelibrary.tv now some of you may already know about this but for those of you who don't I am so excited to introduce you to it. It is a wine podcast hosted by Gary Vaynerchuk and he is possibly the most entertaining person I have ever heard talk about wine and at the same time, I am really learning.
So I guess this post falls into the random category, but keep voting in the survey cause I really want this blog to become more focused.

Redecorating

I have been wishing that I could redecorate my room because there is a lot of stuff in it that I do not need, or is not meeting my needs.
I have a large couch in my room that I want to get rid of because it only serves as a place to leave books, clothes and art supplies. Once I move that out of the room I will have more space to work and store things.
If any of you have watched my youtube videos you probably have noticed that I have a green wall behind me. However my entire room is not green. I learned that if you want color in a room painting only one wall give the room color without making the room seem smaller and over powering. The other three walls in my room are white. Because of this I want a cleaner color palette in the room. I want to get an all white comforter cover (or maybe white and black) but I want the overall color theme of the room to be black and white. Simple, clean, classic.
To bring the green wall into the theme I want to buy a chandelier wall decal to put on the green wall. I also want to buy a black bookcase/storage space from ikea to help organize my books, shoes, and art supplies.
For my art I would like to buy a drawing drafting table. I have a regular desk but it has my computer on it and not much space for drawing or painting. This drawing table has places to hold pens, paintbrushes and supplies. Also it is tilted at a nice angle for working.
Finally I want to get a new scanner and do away with the crappy all-in-one HP that I have on my desk. This is the Epson perfection 4490 and it can scan at 4800 x 9600 dpi resolution. It also can scan 35mm and medium format negatives. Which will help me to digitally archive all my film work.
So thats what I have planned so far for my room re-design.

Return to the internet

So, I have been using blogger for a while now and I have had some interesting internet experiences. The internet is a huge place and I am finding out more and more each day how huge. This is the story of how I got where I am today as an internet user. My experience with blogs really started out with twitter. I honestly do not rememebr how I found twitter or why I started using it, but finding how many people were on twitter got this whole internet thing started. (or course I have been using the internet for years, but now I consider my previous internet use shallow, barely breaking the internet surface. (usual facebook, myspace, and some apple rumor sites) After twitter I started watching geek brief tv, which is a podcast with Cali Lewis, then I started following her twitter, I started by first blog (which I have now scraped), then I started watching Mahalo Daily, another podcast with Veronica Belmont. Some time around here I started this blog to be just about fashion and shopping, then I started my youtube channel. Then I found out about "social bookmarking sites" like del.icio.us and digg. Then I started watching Diggnation, with Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht. This opened a whole new world of the internet for me. I started following Kevin Rose on twitter and through that I found out about Pownce, through Pownce I found out about Yahoo Live, which is a site where you can broadcast yourself live and interact with your viewers. I started a show on Y live and found a lot of people who liked the same things thatI did and thought that I was a good show host. All these people friended me on pownce and I decided to see how quickly I could get my blog attention through all these other sites. The problem was that my blog and youtube channel was geared toward women and all the sites that I was on were just out of beta, and mostly used by men. So I am continuing the experiment to see how well it will do. Please comment and let me know how you like all the sites and what I should write about and also what I should make new youtube videos about.
Here are the links to the sites where you can find me.

the internet blows my mind

I just found out that my younger sister has not one, but two blogs. She is 15 years old so it isn't that surprising, the surprising part is that the two blogs are for school. One is for her french class and the other is for her english class. It blows my mind that teachers are actually using the internet as an interesting learning tool. But when my sister found my blog, she had no idea that people actually used blogger for "real" blogs. She thought it was just a school thing. And education fails again...lol

It has been a while

I know that I haven't written a blog post in a while but life has been crazy. Let me catch you up to speed... I turned 21 which was a crazy and amazing day that I remember most of, I will be out of a job for a month due to renovation at my place of work :(, midterms are coming up and I am studying like a crazy person... and (drumroll please) I finally got an iphone for my birthday, my amazing friends all pitched in and got me one and I love them for it.
One of the reasons that I haven't been posting as much as I used to is because I am on my iphone all the time and for some reason blogger has not yet come out with a mobile version for people to blog on the go. Because my iphone puts so much of the internet in my pocket, I don't find the need to sit down at my computer as often. Sure there are things that I need my computer for but I don't think that blogging should be one of them. As a blogger with a busy lifestyle I feel that I should be able to blog on the go, just as fast as I can update my twitter or pownce accounts. So thats what I am wanting right now folks...I want blogger to get it together so that I can write these nice long posts right from my iphone.
