want, wish, need: shoes!

I am a firm believer that a girl can never have to many shoes. Think about it, once you are about 14 you will be the same shoe size for most of you life, and that means that unlike clothes, which you will out grow, and might even get to big if a diet works right from time to time, shoes will always fit. So it makes sense to invest money in some great shoes. I think I put a pair or two in one of my posts about things that I want to own before I die. (check it out)

But right now I am talking about shoes that I want now. That are in this season.

The first is a pair of Christian Louboutin studded mary janes. These are a neutral patent leather and the perfect color for spring. The mary jane is always a classic style, but the designer has put a fresh twist on it by adding the studs. What I love about the studs on these shoes is since they are not black studded, they turn out looking a lot less biker chick and a lot more high fashion.

The second pair, is a beautiful pair of boots by Michael Kors. The Brink boot fits in perfectly with a current fall trend that I can see carrying over to spring and next fall (so it would be the perfect time to buy a pair if you haven't already done so) The trend is riding boots, these are particularly special because of the zipper detail that goes up the side that I adore.

The last pair might not fit in so well with your current wardrobe but they area a shoe collectors dream! It's another pair of Christian Louboutins, this time the detail is graffiti down one side of the shoe that spells Louboutin! (I happen to have a soft spot for graffiti, so bare with me here) They are metallic gold leather peep toe platforms with a classic Louboutin red sole as always.

You can expect to see more of me lusting after designer shoes in the future. I would love comments if you have them :)

Found: The Gossip Girl Guide to New York

For those of you planning a trip to the New York area, or for those of you that live in New York already, here is an interesting blog post I found on the internets for you today. It's the gossip girl guide to New York. Such a great show, filmed in such a great city it bound to result in great locations. And who knows, perhaps like Sex and the City before it, maybe gossip girl will inspire whole NYC tours. Now wouldn't that be fun.

because every fashionista needs a little tech in her life!

Ok, so let me preface this by saying that I have never owned a zune, and I probably never will because I am an apple fangirl to the death, however, when I saw this limited edition zune designed by nylon magazine (which is one of my favorite magazines) I feel in love. If only apple released cute limited edition ipods designed by cool companies....now thats something to think about.  I would however like to check out a zune and see how it compares to my beloved ipod, and if anyones knows of somewhere that I could get an ipod customized this cool, please leave it in the comments.

Site of the week: theurbancollection.com

I am so excited to share this site with you guys. I can't even take credit for finding this site, I found it on one of my favorite blogs urbansocialite.wordpress.com
The site is theurbancollection.com and it is an amazing site for vintage clothing shopping online. It is extremely hard to find good vintage online and because these items are one of a kind, they sell out quickly. Be sure that you know your measurements because thats how you will be able to tell if these items will fit you. I do hope that they start to offer more medium sized things because as it is mostly small sized things. But overall, a great place for vintage, so check it out because this site got me so excited. The above picture are some of my favorite things from the site.
One final note is that the clothes are very reasonably priced for such great vintage!

Get the look: Gossip Girl

So today I'm bringing you two dresses from Urban Outfitters that reminded me of two dresses that Blair and Serena wore on gossip girl. Urban is really taking cues from this show. The girls of this show love to wear mini dresses any time of the year with tights or patterned stockings.
So check out Urban Outfitters if you are looking for the gossip girl look.

Two online stores that you might not know about

I decided to talk about two of my favorite places to shop online. I know that a lot of you spend a good deal of time online and shopping online is  a great way to preview look that you want to try on in store. I usually don't buy clothes online unless I know my size from trying it on in store before. However I will order bags, accessories, and shoes (sometimes) online.

store.americanapparel.net is the first online store I wanted to clue you guys in on. While I am sure many of you have heard about american apparel by now, you might not know that they have a great online store. What makes this online store so great? Well if you have ever shopped at an american apparel store, you should know that they do not have sales, however, the online store does have sales. This makes it a great place to buy stuff you have found in store online when it goes on sale. I also love there deals online for basic tees and other items that you might want to buy more of. They often have 3 packs of these items. One last reason why I frequent the american apparel online store: They have a link on there main page with up coming items, and that gives me something to look forward to trying.

Anthropologie.com is the second online store. Many of you may not know that anthro is owned by urban outfitters, making it a great solution store for people who like urban style, but feel that they might be out growing it.  While anthro has a bit more of a laid back earthy feel to it, it still packs an edgy urban punch. Both the store and online store feature household and lifestyle items in addition to clothes.

So go check it out!

Seriously loving: Gossip Girl

So obviously I am obsessed with gossip girl, and if by now you haven't seen it I command you to go watch it. I have been in love with gossip girl since I was in high school reading the books. The characters are so colorful you could always really see yourself in their world.
Now being that I am from NYC, I was really happy when I found out that they were filming the show here and not somewhere in cali trying to make it look like out wonderful city. It's the same reason that Sex and the City was so great, because the city is a character of its own.
What brings this all to a want, wish, need blog post is that right now I am really wanting Blake Lively's (who plays Serena Van Der Woodson) color palette for clothes. Now my colors right now have mostly been black, white and grey. And while I am loving these colors for winter I am also loving the beautiful, warm shades of brown that are in this characters wardrobe.
The staple of brown leather riding boots, and brown jackets has really changed my current wardrobe.  Mixing brown with white and blue, is a great classic combo that is really hard to mess up right now.
So go out and try it for yourself.

Trend Forecast: Spring 2008

So here is my first prediction of a big trend this Spring/Summer season. Long dresses. I mean long flowing dresses. Above are some pictures from a few Spring 2008 and Resort 2008 shows. Also I included a picture of Rachel Zoe, a hollywood stylist, who has been wearing this trend for a while.
I am really looking forward to seeing this trend hit the stores. I will keep you updated with when these hit stores, and where the deals are.
