Fashionista in training winter reading list

While you are home for the holidays you will have a lot of free time relaxing. Why not make the most of that free time with some interesting books to read. Here are some of my personal favorites.
1. How to walk in high heels: a girls guide to everything - This book is about a lot more than just shoes. From appreciating wine to understanding modern art, placing a bet to playing poker, wearing a hat to climbing the career ladder.
2. The Lucky Shopping Manual - This was the first book of this type that I ever bought. The Lucky Shopping manual is a guide of how to build your closet from the bottom up. From the basics to timeless accessories.
3. Emily Post's Guide to Etiquette - Etiquette is something that every Fashionista needs to posses. Now you may think that this is an outdated book but it is in its 17th edition and it has been completely updated. With everything from classic manners to email etiquette.
4. Style A to Zoe - This book was written by stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe. It has a lot of little tips but also has her stories and wonderful photographs,
5.  The little black book of style - This is written by Nina Gracia, Editor of Elle magazine and start of project runway. This book really helped me in creating my personal style. She talks a lot about not following trends but really figuring out what inspires you. She also has great guides for dressing for an occasion especially when you can't tell the difference between black tie formal and cocktail wear.
6. The Modern Girl's Guide to Life - This book had tips for everything you need to be a modern girl. From makeup tips to tips on getting your credit in order. Even tips for changing a car tire in heels.

I hope you enjoy my little reading list. These books make great coffee table books.

WISH - Fleur de lis jewelry

I spent the summer in Florence, Italy. It truly is a beautiful place. I even found the streets beautiful. On all the metal lids of the water mains in the streets of Florence there is a fleur de lis symbol. I fell in love with the fleur de lis and I have been looking for the perfect pendant to symbolize my perfect summer. But until I find the perfect one, here are some other examples of Fleur de lis jewelry. Maybe you will find your perfect one.

Things I want to own before I die

These are some things that are just timeless, things that will always be in style.
1.  Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes- I fell in love with these shoes when I first saw them on an episode of Sex and the City, they are beautiful and while not as timeless as the classic pump, I think they take a certain type of style.
2. LV Speedy 30- Now this is not something that I want to buy but it is something that I hope to own. My mother owns a vintage speedy that I hope becomes mine one day. It's such a great bag for traveling and it holds so much.
3.  A great pearl necklace- I'm not sure when or where I will buy this from, but I know that I want a classic strand of pearls in my wardrobe.
4. Hermes Birkin- the ULTIMATE "IT" bag, the Birkin is a classic all the way through. To own one of these would truly be a dream. I have heard that there are waiting lists for this bag and the price is astronomical.
5. Hermes scarves- okay, so I clearly like Hermes, but they have put together a great classic brand. A Hermes scarf is something that has been said to never loose value. I hope to have a few of these in my collection of silk scarves (which I have already started to amount)
6. A Tiffany charm bracelet- Now I know that I don't have an actual picture of a charm bracelet but I want this charm bracelet to be something that I develop over time, something that grows with me. A true personal, classic piece.

Well, thats my list...for now :)
